Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Miller Lab is currently hiring for a Research Technician who will design, perform and analyze complex research experiments.

Responsibilities include:

• Organizing, interpreting, and communicating data to supervisor and co-workers.

• Ability to follow technical laboratory protocols.

• Documenting work in an electronic format.

• Troubleshooting protocols and unexpected results.

• Collaborating, building constructive relationships, and effectively communicating with other members of the lab.

• Working independently and as a team member.

• Operating highly specialized equipment requiring moderate to high degree of skill.

• Expected to perform more advanced techniques after appropriate training.

• May provide guidance to research staff, graduate students, and post docs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates are required to have Bachelor’s degree or above in one of the biological sciences and/or equivalent years of relevant laboratory experience.

• Should be familiar with basic biochemistry or molecular biology lab techniques.

• Ability to work well with others is essential.

• Must have effective communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Must have the ability to carefully follow written and verbal instructions, be highly motivated, conscientious, and highly dependable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience.

• Have an interest in muscle and/or aging or an interest/experience in data science.

Work Hours

Typically, Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
